How To Get Started Discussion Group Opening

Many of us new to marketing on the web use bits and pieces we get from our hunt and peck method of trying to put it together on the cheap.  I wish I could tell you that the hunt and peck method works.  Well, sometimes for chickens only and even then they use a lot of scratch!  :-)

Simple Step By Step Guru Shows You How

Look, I know you’ve heard all that step by step crap before. Usually there are so many steps you give up ’cause you believe you’ll never learn it all. Would be nice if all you had to do was push that big red button in the sky and it would all be done for you.

Look, there are two – let me repeat two gurus I have tremendous respect for in this industry. They’re the ones helping the little guys like you and me day in and day out with simple and do-able methods. They provide tools (each of their programs are different because they cater to different needs), they provide videos. Heck they almost do it all for you. Their names are Marlon Sanders of Step-By-Step fame and Mark Ling of Affilorama.

Want to know why your website isn’t working? Maybe it’s the marketing model you’re using … and there are over 11 models. If you’re mixing and matching chances are your site isn’t converting. Go ask Marlon, better yet … click here – it’s simple, and well – read for yourself … he won’t steer you wrong. Having trouble with creating a sales letter – no worries he’s got this almost down to “just push the dang button” simplicity.

Now, for those of you in a rush – big mistake. That’s like taking off in your car with an empty tank ’cause you were in such a rush you forgot. Don’t do it. Take the time. Yeah – you might say … easy for you to say … I’ve spent so much time on so many programs…. Stop right there.

These programs don’t cost you an arm or a leg period. Yes they cost a little money, depending on what you choose. Heck you even have the advantage of a free trial. So don’t cry me a river.

Now, need someone to take you by the hand and do it for you? Not gonna happen. But you can get super help from Mark and his gang of superstars (his support team). He helped his dad quit his job, and he’ll help you too.

Both Marlon and Mark have different styles. Both have systems that make it easy to follow along and get you going.

Personally speaking, I’ve found I have the unfortunate habit of making things more complicated than they are. I try to cut corners and mix this product and gee that product would complement this product and so I’ve been lumping them together and getting the whole thing wrong. So stick to the basics, don’t stray and try to mix and match. If you got a product to sell of your own or an affiliate product. KEEP IT SIMPLE! Don’t lump other products together under one domain. You’ll be tempted, but take it from me — oh heck, don’t believe me … try it on your own. Mix up, make your mistakes and the sooner you get that over with the sooner you’ll come to your senses and learn to keep it simple.

OK, that’s my rant for the day … ’cause now I’ve got to go and fix a page where I missed a vital step.

What’s Your Blog About?

OK, you’ve got your site up and running.  What’s your blog about?  Have you done your niche research and your keyword research yet?

If not, you’re missing the boat and the most important part of what you want to say.  Once you know your niche and you want to post article on your site. Knowing which keywords will return you traffic is vitally important. Do not skip this step!

If you’re having a wee bit of trouble wrapping your head around this, then I suggest you take a free tour of the little blue box to your right. It will save you loads of time, and give you tutorials where you need it most.

If you’re having trouble optimizing your Wordpress settings for your blog (don’t feel bad, I haven’t done it yet for this site either). And don’t forget to check out Mark’s tutorial for setting up your categories correctly or your redirect php script.

In the meantime … brush up on your writing on speaking skills, because whichever one you choose … you’ll be making full use of them in the coming weeks.

Writer’s Block? Can You Speak? Then No Problem

OK, here’s the thing – if you’re into net work marketing or selling online – if you have writer’s block, can you speak?  If you can, you’re off to the races … at first at the speed of a tortise, but at least you’re off and running.  The search engines follow movement. You don’t make an effort … you get nada.

Marlon Sanders has a brand new super easy 7 step process he’s used 122 times and it works for him.  I’m gonna use it.  In fact I ordered it just a little while ago.  Some of it I’ve already been doing, but I’ve got a few big holes in my process that I now see, and I’m taking steps to fix it.

You can see what I mean here  –  Marlon’s 7 Step Writers program . It works, it never sleeps and it’s evergreen.

I think  he could also call it the “7 Step Speak EZ Program”, but what do I know – I like to write – but maybe you’re more comfortable speaking – in which case you’re way ahead of me.

Got Your First Post Up?

Hey, if you’ve got your site up and running and your first post,  post your comment below with your link and I’ll come by and take a look.

Next, to the widgets section of your Wordpress “Appearance” panel.  Here you’ll notice that you’ll have the option of selecting what items you want to appear in your side bar or anywhere else in your template.

Drag and drop the text boxes – at least one.  In this text widget you are now able to add some html for Google Adsense if you like, or links to your favorite photos and so forth.

Experiment with it,  you may have to modify the code to center it or what have you, but the most important point is  you’re trying and  you’re learning.

It took me a heck of a long time to figure out where and what I was doing, because I was lazy and didn’t note down on what pages I put in what code.  Go figure.

Anyhow, this is even where you can put up your free Pdf file or your newsletter sign up box,  … hey, it’s your blog.

Well gotta head off to the gym … it’s just between here and there that’s the trouble.  Like -25.

Long Time No Hear

It’s been a while since my last post and for being tardy I apologize.  I’ve been working hard creating 2 new sites and getting some articles outsourced and the whole nine yards.

Traffic is coming along nicely … and none of it is paid for, unless you count blood sweat and tears (and some hair that’s been pulled out).
Anyhow, it’s moving along and was uploaded last Friday.  It went from being an un-known, to still unknown, but soon will be up there.  I don’t want to spill the beans about how I’m doing it, until I know for sure and certain things are humming on a continuous basis.

For those of you that love articles, or earn a living with creating articles and want to get some traffic to bolster your sale of articles, again – www.EZineArticles.com is one of the best out there, along with www.GoArticles.com

For those of you who don’t have the time to slog away, outsource with e-Lance.

Don’t have a site up yet and wondering what the hell you’re doing?  That’s easy.  You can have a professional looking site up in about 10 to 20 minutes.  Less if you’re a quick learner.  Yes, it will cost you some money.  Not much.  You’ll need to buy a domain name.  Most popular and easy to use is GoDaddy, you can choose who you like.  Simple and quick is GDI services which offer domain name and hosting in one quick and easy setup and you can forward this domain easily too or create an affiliate site from it if you wish.

You also have the option to host you GDI site elsewhere – same goes for your GoDaddy domain name.  And this is key. Whichever you choose, you will want to be able to have an easily accessible control panel.  I prefer hosting with Hostmonster.com (in order to get the great deals with them, you have to pay 3 years in advance for your hosting), but their control panel is super easy to use.  Hostgator has a control panel, but I found it more cumbersome and I didn’t want all the bother with FTP.  The choice is yours.  I’m an affiliate of all of theirs, but I’m in a rush and don’t want to look up aff. codes.  So just input their urls into your address bar, shop and compare.

Once you’ve got your domain name and selected your hosting package, get into your control panel and look for a wordpress plugin.  Hit it, it should upload automatically and voila … you’re off to the races.  (providing you didn’t forget to let your domain host know your dns codes.) Your site is now live!  No html knowledge required, no ftp – nada and no extra cost.  Yes you could do the free wordpress thingy, but then it gets complicated and they don’t want you posting any commercial type content.  So pay your dime, get your domain, get your hosting package and get started right now.

Once you get that done, I’ll be back with the next step.
