Relationship marketing is a skill touted all over the internet, but everywhere it seems that what really constitutes a relationship in many IM circles is just jamming other people’s email boxes full of emails.
The whole purpose of building a relationship – any kind of a relationship is to be sincere and bring value to that relationship. Whether it’s an unexpected gift, a great piece of news or information or something exciting … whatever it is .. lol .. be genuine!
I find that this is one of the hardest things for me with an online business and even with my blog. It’s easy for me to be reactive and have something relevant to say in a face to face offline environment – much harder for me online. I guess I’m used to seeing people’s faces. I hate SPAM, I make a point not to impose, but at the same time, when I have something that I believe is important and will genuinely benefit someone, I want to let them know. The key is to find balance.
There are several great resources out there to help you find your stride. I’m not going to re-invent the wheel, but when I do find something good I will let you know about and post a review about what I think.
Relationships are what we all live for – offline as well as on. They bring color, dimension, depth and passion to our lives. One of the best resources out there on not only growing yourself, but growing your relationships is a timeless classic called Think and Grow Rich by Napoleon Hill.
For any who haven’t taken the time to go out buy, read and apply the principals of this timeless work … there’s no time like the present. It’s principals direct improvement in all aspects of a persons life as well as your business/professional life. And that also means relationships.
For those of you who haven’t -(until just a short time ago I hadn’t either) you’ll discover a world of not only practical but easy to implement ideas and a complete system in which anyone can start to change their life. Among some of the people not listed in Napoleon Hill’s book, but who by their methods I believe also subscribed to his principals were Einstein and Nicola Tesla. More modern day famously successful leaders are people such as Anthony Robbins.
Personally Anthony helped change my life starting 3 years ago, without his teachings and insights I most likely would not have been able to get where I am today. Funny thing is, some of this stuff you might know intuitively but not consciously and so you go ’round and ’round.
I found it humorous to discover some of the points that Anthony and Napoleon Hill shared, and clearly other ideas expressed were results of the times in which “Think And Grow Rich” was written.
Never-the-less, it is a huge body of work and although it takes time to go through, the insights you gain into yourself open new doors you most likely never thought possible. My journey is still in its infancy. I wish I would have gotten this book as my 16th Birthday present and I wish I would have learned about Tony a whole lot sooner too. I’d love to attend one of his fire-walking seminars.
In the interim, I’m off to set this year’s goals and I encourage you to take advantage of what you’ll discover between your own ears with the aid of “Think And Grow Rich” by Napoleon Hill or anyone else who inspires you and challenges you to become more than you are now.
Cheers,
Angela
