Russell Brunson’s Micro-C Review

Russell Brunson’s Micro-C program seems at first blush to be the art of simplicity, but it’s application although not difficult to implement packs some serious punch. And this blog is where I’ll let you know my progress.

The last couple of weeks have been hectic for me – I’ve been trying out a few different programs and reviewing others, plus writing content for a few of my other sites and dealing with a disaster regarding wp plug-ins on another site. So lots of fun and games!

Back to the Micro-C stuff. What I love about it … is that it gets you thinking back in the right direction of innovation and creativity. Something that I’ve been out of the loop on for over a year working with an ill parent. For that time I’ve had my nose to the grind stone and filled with worry, concern and other headaches. Russell brought me back to reality … where creativity fuels innovation and resourcefulness.

Result? I went back to my old computer and pulled out and dusted off a product I had started 2 years ago but didn’t know the first thing about how to get it up and online properly. It was cutting edge and timely then, and even more timely now.

Yes it needs a few tweaks which I’m doing now. And yes I’m getting over my personal fears of doing a video. OK – I know it’s no biggie for a lot of you out there, but I was really self-conscious as a kid and am shocked to discover it’s come back to haunt me after not working with the public for a while.  I thought I had left such superficial concerns behind long ago.  Stupid I know, but something that surprised me about myself.

Everyone needs a roof over their head, and lord knows that in the last 18 years in real estate I’ve seen a few things. Things I know will really help new home buyers before they get themselves into trouble.

3 Top Reasons NOT To Advertise

The 3 top reasons not to advertise are:

1)  The Economy

2)  Sales Are Slow (so the first thing cut is the ‘advertising budget’

3)  Cost

Reason 1:  The Economy:

First, let’s address the economy.  Time after time, recession after recession it’s been a closely guarded fact that the businesses that make it and come out of adversities like these … and become even stronger … are the ones that continue to advertise.  (And guess what – most of your competition will have already stopped advertising … leaving you with more people with more eyes on your product.  Make sense?

A good example is what is now a huge soft drink company (red and white logo …. bet you know who I mean).  Point is during the Great Depression they advertised heavily while their competitors languished … and vanished.  Result?   As you know they became a powerhouse of a business and still are!

Reason #2:  Sales Are Slow

OK, I understand your sales are slow – it only makes sense you do something to bring people in the door now, doesn’t it!  PUT YOUR FACE OUT THERE!  Cutting your ad budget when you need it to work for you most is like slitting your throat because you’re  hungry.

Next Reason:  Cost

Stop throwing your money away!  Here is where the rubber meets the road.  You need to look at ROI (return on investment).  If you don’t know if your advertising dollars are returning results … how can you tell if it’s even effective?

For example, you just gave away the store by plunking  your cash down for a fabulous looking ad … and ???? What? You don’t even know if anyone responded to your ad.  How sick is that.

This is where ‘performance based advertising’ is totally and uniquely different.  You get with a program or advertising agency that specifically ONLY targets customers we already know are buying and looking for a particular type of product or service.

Here’s where ‘performance based advertising’ pulls out all the stops.  What if you could:

a) tell exactly how many responses you got on a particular day on a particular ad, in a particular publication or a particular newspaper?

b) and if you could simultaneously compare that ad to a totally different ad, AND

c) simultaneously compare a “tweaked” version of the same ad

d) simultaneously compare a tweaked version or different ad in the same publication on the same day (or even a different publication)

Get the idea?

Now what if you could even get those people who are actively engaged in looking for your product or service and chomping at the bit to “GIVE YOU” their contact details too!

What would that type of advertising be worth to you?

What’s your annual ad budget?  $5,000, $10,000, $25,000? More?  Less? How many of your sales or walk-in traffic can you actually attribute to any of your ads?  A particular ad?

You don’t need to be spending mega-wads of cash to get effective advertising results.  Starting with one or two small, properly designed, set-up and properly placed ads you can begin seeing huge differences in your advertising results.

You will know without a doubt where and how which ads work and which don’t.  You’ll know exactly what customers came from what ad, and when.

Now, about those reasons to not advertise.  Don’t you think they are a bit foolish?  Slit your own throat if you want to.

The reasons to advertise in a performance driven manner are logical and proven to be outstandingly effective.  So… how’s your advertising doing in this economy?  Answer: As they say in racing –  ”STAND ON IT!”

It Doesn’t Have To Be All Doom And Gloom

Turn off your TV if you begin feeling overwhelmed by all the disaster scenarios they seem to be flogging these days.  Heck we all need to worry about today and the disasters we’re causing or are in already, even if we had no direct hand in causing some of them.  Never mind the “what ifs” of tomorrow.  We’re all in the soup together guys and the sooner we all realize this the better.

OK, so the sky is falling, the oil slick hasn’t been contained (don’t get me started on that point … or I’ll never stop).  I sincerely believe that this disaster could have been prevented and that it could have been contained long before this.

But that is a good example of what I mean.  I am certain that there will be more things in the future that we’ll all have to worry about.  The point is … forget worrying and get making and creating solutions.  Start today, where you are with what you have.

Yes, we all consume power, and yes if one is to believe the solar flare thing (and I have no reason to doubt it), then we should all be making disaster preparedness a part of our daily lives.  By this I don’t mean creating panic.  What I do mean is, don’t put all of your income eggs in one basket.  Don’t be reliant solely upon the internet as your only source of business (and I don’t mean because of the SE app changes).

My reasons are several and you can post and tell me if you share my views or not.  But here they are:

1- Have a second home based business that deals in physical services and products and by cash or trade/barter.  This way you’ll already be established and it will be business as usual if something should go wrong.  Besides being a people person is good for you too.

2- Get off grid if you possibly can.  Mark my words … if you think that food will go up in a crisis, you’re right.  But just watch what your utilities will be doing. The dollars you spend today to go totally green, off grid or net zero as they say will reward you in the long run.  In the large centers you may even run into laws or by-laws that will prevent you from doing this.

Believe it or not there are actually areas already doing this to preserve the customer base for goverment owned grid-based utility companies.  Not to mention the pressure local, state and federal governments will be put under once lobbying by utility companies start in earnest.  This is going to be one of the most important “cash in your pocket” strategies you may ever take advantage of.   Time will tell.  I already know of areas where the cost of the electricity each month is often more than the cost of renting a home.  No joke.

3 – Best way to get off of the grid is to get an acreage or rural property not far from where you are now (or move to where you’d like to be).  Why?  On top of the off grid advantages and the ability to grow your own food, prices have never been more reasonable and when the s*** hits the fan, you don’t want to end up in the middle of a large city filled with hungry starving people who will think nothing of taking your food from you.  Barter/trade, sweat equity … do what you need to.  But do it.

4- If you can’t buy a place like I described, then rent one, or join together with a few friends and family who share like minded goals and you can share the load.

5- Keep your e-business going and help others to do the same.  Be a pillar of strength to your customers, friends and family.  Word of mouth will always serve you well and keep you in business even if  other methods of advertising become limited or non-existent.  Besides, word of mouth advertising is of the priceless kind.  You can’t buy sincere customer loyalty or their ability to bring you their friends and family to you for help, and in a crisis this is even more important, and an indication of how well respected you are in your circle of influence.  Receiving this kind of advertising is really an honor and should be respected accordingly.

6 – Continue creating solutions instead of harping on the problems.  The clouds will clear, you’ll find satisfaction and maybe even joy in what you do and yes, we can make the world a better place.
