Long Trip, Bad Weather …

Took a long road trip to Arizona, only to end up …

headed home 7 days later, cutting my trip short by a week so I could avoid the bad weather.  Thanks to the Utah State Patrol officer who pulled us over (first time I will ever be thankful for a ticket!  Will explain in a minute.) we decided to take an alternate route home (by an extra 1400 miles) – and good thing too – or we would have ended up in the middle of the mother of all storms this season and stuck in Boise.

I’ll be forever grateful for that ticket, because not only would we have been stuck for almost a week, my dad would have been out in the middle of no-where when he desperately needed medical attention.

In fact he looked so pale (but was so stubborn he wasn’t going to NO Hospital!) that I had to lie as to where I was taking him.  Long and short – he needed emergency surgery for his heart – and was able to get it just in the nick of time.

Many things conspired on that trip from my sprained ankle on day two, to the weather, to the state patrol and sooo many numerous small things that guided us like someone was watching out for us and brought us home safely.

All I can say humbly is Wow – and thank you.
